The "Mekong Spirit" which was arrested by the Greek coast guard, who claimed that explosives were being transported unauthorized to Sudan, was still detained on June 2. The ship was intercepted in the Aegean Sea on May, 24, 2017. The ship's manager is a Spanish branch of Lumar SA, a Geneva-based company with local lawyers. The Geneva branch has only an administrative role and the operational aspect was being managed from Barcelona according to the Swiss directors, who specified that the ship was chartered by a third company at the time of its control which would be liable in the event of an infringement, but they ensured that the cargo was in order.
