in coastal port container throughput to 10.6 million TEU in the first
half, reports Xinhua.
Combined provincial seaport tonnage increased 10.9 per cent to 590 million tonnes in the period. Foreign trade volume rose nine per cent to 304 million tonnes.
The three largest of its ports, Qingdao, Yantai and Rizhao, contributed 500 million tonnes to the province's sea port throughput and accounted for 85.3 per cent of its total throughput.
Qingdao Port Group handled 230 million tonnes, up 11.3 per cent. Yantai Port Group lifted 110 million tonnes, up 12.9 per cent. Rizhao's throughput grew 10.5 per cent to 160 million tonnes.
