Seaspan Ferries Corporation (SFC), Delta, B.C., Canada, awarded SEDEF Shipyard of Istanbul, Turkey in November 2014 a contract for the construction of two new dual-fueled (diesel and liquefied natural gas) ferries.The first 148.9 m ferry named SEASPAN SWIFT was delivered in October 2016 and was the first ferry of its type in North America, was designed by Vard Marine and built at the SEDEF yard in Istanbul/Tuzla, Seaspan Ferries operates cargo-only service between Vancouver Island and the Canadian mainland. The second ferry named SEASPAN RELIANT is getting ready for delivery as well, so time to have a look onboard this LNG fuelled hybrid powered vessel which can accommodate up to 59 trailers.
