SANKYU (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is offering a service to shippers of containerised cargo, whereby the system supplier will make and send advance filing data to Japan's customs authorities via Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System, Inc. (NACCS).
The announcement comes ahead of the March 8, 2014, launch of the 24-hour advanced manifest rule in Japan, requiring advance submission of shipping details for security screening prior to loading of cargo on board the vessel at origin.
Shipments that don't contain the necessary information in shipping instructions will be rejected for loading by customs authorities.
Sankyu said it in a statement that it helps shippers on "all matters of AFR [Advance Filing Rules] from preparation to data transmission."
The company added that it was recognised as a service provider (SP) contractor on April 2, 2013.
A service provider has to conclude a SP agreement with the NACCS Centre in Japan to connect each other's systems in order for ocean carriers and non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs) to comply with Japan customs' new Advance Filing Rules.
NACCS is a system dedicated to the electronic processing of air/sea freight to enable faster and more efficient customs clearance and movement of freight.
