ORGANISERS of the 4th European Dredging Summit to be held in Rotterdam on March 6-7 are calling on industry experts to take part in session three, entitled: 'Focus on successful projects: Tackling the obstacles & approaching new possibilities'.
The session will focus on the scope and attainability of European Union funds and how to meet the criteria to qualify for funding.
ACI, the organisers of the event, highlighted that the world in which the dredging industry operates is rapidly changing. Climate change, regulations, technological innovations and developments in global trade with the emphasis on sustainability exert a significant impact on dredging.
The summit will seek to address where these effects are likely to be felt the most and what future business strategies are expected to emerge in the dredging industry. The discussions will also examine the latest challenges and opportunities facing Europe's dredging industry.
Key topics include: Future economic trends and keeping up with EU environmental legislations; the importance of monitoring for effective project development; the impact and benefits of water injection dredging; sediment management: innovative use and beneficial reuse of dredged materials; cost effective and green solutions; and the need to control emissions and ensure new investments.
