THAILAND's regional Container Lines (RCL), after naming latest newbuilding, the 1,930-TEU Nattha Bhum, the company unveiled plans for new vessels, reports UK's Seatrade Maritime News.
The company invested $27.25 million in the construction of the Nattha Bhum, which was recently named in Thailand.
RCL president Twinchok Tanthuwanit said the company would expand its services in markets with significant growth potential, including India, the Middle East, and Africa.
To support this, RCL is preparing to invest in new vessels. These vessels will replace older ones in the fleet, increase overall capacity and enhance environmental performance.
The Nattha Bhum is classified as a Bangkokmax vessel, denoting its ability to call at Bangkok Port on the Chao Praya River.
Notably, the vessel is equipped with scrubbers, which contribute to reducing its environmental impact.
