RCL shrinks loss 11pc to US$52 million in 2013, lifts 10pc fewer boxes
THAILAND's Regional Container Lines (RCL) narrowed last year's annual loss by 11 per cent to THB1.7 billion (US$52 million) despite lifting fewer containers than in 2012.
Fourth quarter net losses of THB939 million were 23 per cent less than losses suffered a year ago, after impairment charges on its vessels and shipbuilding contracts amounting to THB877 million.
Total liftings, including both shipper-owned and carrier-owned containers, declined 10 per cent to 495,167 TEU in the fourth quarter.
