THE International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) has purchased classroom simulators of 12 NAUTIS Desktop Trainers and a NAUTIS Instructor Station to provide the complete range of ECDIS Model course 1.27 training to its curriculum.
The classroom was delivered and installed by VSTEP engineers at the IMCO premises in Sohar, Oman.
The desktop trainers at IMCO are high performance simulators including a 120-degrees horizontal outside field as well as radar/ARPA view and type-approved MARIS ECDIS. The desktop trainers are compatible with different types of ECDIS, including type-approved MARIS, Kelvin Hughes and PC Maritime Navmaster.
To guarantee optimal realism in training, the Gulf of Oman ports of Duqm, Sultan Qaboos and Mina Al Fahl were all modelled and integrated into the simulators.
IMCO is an institute of Higher Education for Maritime, Port, Shipping, Transport or Process Industries careers. The diploma and bachelor programmes offered by IMCO are unique in Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. IMCO is supported by the STC-Group from Rotterdam.
The NAUTIS range of advanced maritime training simulators is developed by VSTEP, which offers an affordable and effective alternative for training maritime professionals, officers and crews.
