Ningbo quarterly container volume rises 9.3pc to 4.04 million TEU
EASTERN China's port of Ningbo recorded a container throughput of 4.04 million TEU during the first three months of this year, 9.3 per cent higher than the volume in the same period last year.
The port's throughput tonnage in the first quarter amounted to 115 million tonnes, up 8.9 per cent, said Xinhua.
As of the end of March, Ningbo is operating a total of 230 shipping lines with 1,666 sailings per month at the highest. 118 routes are ocean shipping services
The port have also enhanced its ore handling efficiency and handled 12.2 million tonnes in the first quarter, up 7.4 per cent. Its coal throughput also grew 12.1 per cent to 15.7 million tonnes.
