The six 22,000 TEU ships are all scheduled for delivery by December 2019. They add to orders for five ships of the same size that MSC placed with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). The DSME ships do still come with LNG propelled engines.
Rival CMA CGM has ordered nine 22,000 TEU ships in China, all coming with LNG-fuelled engines, Splash 24/7 of Singapore reported.
