MSC hikes Asia-Europe/Med rate US$1,000/TEU from August 1
THE Swiss Italian Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a US$1,000 per TEU rate increase for all cargo moving from Asia to North Europe, UK, Scandinavia and Baltic, as well as the west Mediterranean, Adriatic, North Africa, the east Med and Black Sea, starting August 1.
The, the world's No 2 carrier after Denmark's Maersk Line, will also increase the rate on cargo bound for Syria to EUR950 (US$1,034) per TEU.
Earlier this week, Maersk also raised its Asia-Europe rate $1,000 per TEU effective August 1.
Said the MSC statement: "Using this opportunity, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for continued support rendered and we sincerely urge you to contact us if you require any clarification."
