After RWO’s CleanBallast system was considered as the first
choice by Canadian shipowner Seaspan, the Bremen-based marine water
treatment expert is proud to announce further contracts for its ballast
water treatment system for Belgian and Canadian shipowners. Canada’s
Canfornav will install the RWO system on four 36,000dwt bulk carriers at Yangfan shipyard, and another four CleanBallast units are destined for
38,000t LPG carriers built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyards for Belgium’s
Exmar.“The IMO Convention for ballast water treatment will be an
important issue on every shipowner’s desk this year. In our discussions
with owners, managers, engineers and yards, we have seen that there is
great attention, huge interest and focus on an established and proven
technology, especially in a market such as ballast water treatment,
which is overshadowed by some dark clouds,” commented Peter Wolf, Director of Sales & Marketing at RWO on the contracts.Long-term experience and upgradeability as convincing points“The positive long-term experience of the CleanBallast
technology, without any negative surprises during start-up or commercial operation, and the continuity of our design without having changed the
process since we launched CleanBallast on the market, offer important
features. Regarding customer’s feedback, we have found that the
well-conceived treatment concept of our product, very low power
consumption, having gone beyond IMO compliance and the potential to
upgrade CleanBallast for even tighter standards are convincing points,
too”.Deals for more than 30 units within only a few weeksRWO GmbH, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies,
