JAPAN's MOL is to resume direct calls in Manila on its Japan-Southeast Asia CBE and CBW services from August amid an easing of port congestion in the Philippines capital.
This enables the shipping line to scrap its Japan-Manila MNS dedicated shuttle service that was launched in January 2015 to address the port congestion issue that surfaced late last year.
The revised CBE will visit Manila in the northbound direction only on the following port rotation: Tokyo, Yokohama, Shimizu, Yokkaichi, Nagoya, Busan, Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Manila and back to Tokyo.
The service will continue to turn in three weeks using three containerships ranging in size from 2,553 TEU to 2,959 TEU. The first call at Manila will kick off on August 11.
The revamped CBW service will serve Manila in the southbound direction only, calling at Osaka, Kobe, Moji, Hibikinada, Hakata, Busan, Manila (N), Laem Chabang, Bangkok (Sahathai Terminal- SHCP), Osaka.
The service also turn in three weeks, and again using three ships, but smaller ships, ranging in size from 1,048-TEU to 1,132 TEU. The first call in Manila is scheduled for August 21, reported Alphaliner.
