Turkish Undersecretariat for Maritime Affairs, issued a message doe to 25 June World Seafarers' day. The message is as follows:
The Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs, all the seas of the world kept the flag of our country, away from loved ones, struggling with difficult conditions of nature and the oceans beyond the Turkish sailors celebrate June 25 World Day of Seafarers, and the development of well-being of our society would like to thank them for their contributions, are gratefully acknowledged.
Some of the more than 90% of all world trade is done by sea. More than 70,000 trade ship more than 1.5 million employees around the world sailor, a unique contribution to the world economy and the welfare of the communities are doing. Countries' raw materials, finished products, fuels, foodstuffs, and many need a safe, effective and less harmful to the environment to carry. However, this contribution, there is more to consider, from time to time running away from public scrutiny.
International Maritime Organization, the sailors, the economy, this is a very important contribution to the welfare of society and daily life to remember and to remind the June 25th day of the "World Seafarers' Day" as declared. This date is at the same time, the STCW Convention in 2010, the Philippines / Manila city largely replaced by the diplomatic conference is the date of the decision.
The purpose of "World Seafarers' Day" is, raising the well-being of communities by working under very difficult conditions, and performed the part of a huge sea of world trade to the people, on behalf of the community and the maritime community and their respect and gratitude to be expressed from time to time neglected this important service and contributions remembrance.
