Maersk signs with Russia's RUSAL on moving 10,000 TEU a year
RUSAL, a leading global aluminium producer, and Maersk Line have agreed to cooperate for three years on cargo involving the movement of a possible 10,000 TEU a year.
Under the agreement, RUSAL and Maersk Line will cooperate for the long-term with regards to transport of RUSAL's products, particularly aluminium and alloys.
"The signing of this agreement is a confirmation of the mutual intentions to build a long-term strategic partnership," said RUSAL chief executive Vladislav Soloviev.
"The aim of the agreement is the joint search for the most optimal logistic solutions aimed at optimising costs for both parties," he said.
Said Maersk Russia's sales chief Alexander Bobrakov: "We are very pleased to be chosen by such an important business partner on the Russian market. We committed to meeting high expectations vested in us."
RUSAL is a leading aluminium producer with a 2015 global market share of seven per cent. The company employs 61,000 in facilities in 20 countries.
