DAMCO has received a contract from Sinohydro Corporation Ltd for managing shipments to the Chinese infrastructure development contractor's Zunguru hydro project in Nigeria.
Sinohydro will import large volumes of fly ash and raw materials to Nigeria, as well as construction equipment.
Imports from China will be moved through Lagos to the construction project sites. Damco is also responsible for handling the transit clearance on arrival a Lagos.

They have not only proved we can rely on them, we appreciate their knowledge of business in Africa, and the ease of doing business with the local Damco contact team that understands us well," said logistics manager of Sinohydro Zunguru hydroelectric Power Project Ltd, Chen Nengyou.
The Government of Nigeria aims to increase renewable electricity from 13 per cent of total electricity generation at present to 23 per cent in 2025 and 36 per cent by 2030, said a statement from the logistics provider, which is part of the Maersk Group.
