Maersk Line CEO Skou sees new normal in container growth slowdown
MAERSK LINE CEO Soren Skou said he expects demand growth for container shipping to stay in the four-five per cent range, according to London's Financial Times.
"I think the reality is that our industry has to get used to lower growth than we had in the past," he said in an interview with the FT.
Mr Skou said causes included overseas sourcing growth had leveled off and the expansion of traditional bulk shipments moving in containers had come to an end as well as weaker global economic conditions being the major contributing factor.
