MacGregor signs hatch cover deal for six box ships built in Japan yard
MACGREGOR, part of Cargotec, has won a contract to design and deliver components steel structures for hatch covers to be fitted to six 14,000-TEU ships being built at Japan Marine United's (JMU) Kure shipyard for an unidentified owner.
Delivery of the vessels is scheduled from 2016 through 2018. They will be deployed on the Far East to Europe trade lanes.
Marketing manager, cargo handling, Hiroshi Goto, said in a company statement: "This order follows four ships contracted in 2014 for the same series."
