London Gateway's first of 21 quay cranes arrive from Shanghai Zhenhua
THE DP World US$1.5 billion London Gateway received three of a series of twenty-one 2,000-tonne, 138 metre quay cranes from Shanghai Heavy Industries.
"These cranes will bring new innovation and efficiency to the supply chain industry," said DP World London Gateway CEO Simon Moore.
"It won't be long before importers and exporters across the country will be able to cut costs by choosing London Gateway, which is much closer to where goods need to go," said Mr Moore.
London's Containerisation International reported a number of British shippers have indicated their preference to use the facility, including Nottingham's Mark Lyndon Paper Enterprises, an exporter of recycled cardboard to China, at over 5,000 FEU a month.
