The Japanese government will use subsidies and tax cuts in a bid to help its struggling shipbuilding industry. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will shortly announce comprehensive measures to strengthen the sector, reports Seatrade Asia. These measures will be in place by June next year.
The tax cuts are reportedly aimed at those yards building environmentally friendly vessels and offshore facilities.
