INTERNATIONAL Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) is to receive the last two of four 45-tonne-capacity reachstackers on order, to be installed at the company's terminals in Manila and Subic in the Philippines.
The latest generation Gloria reachstackers that are fuel efficient and can stack containers up to six high are being supplied by Kalmar, part of Cargotec, which signed the order in its third quarter 2014 intake.
The first pair of reachstackers were delivered in December and the last two are scheduled for delivery this month.
A statement from the equipment manufacturer said the Asia launch of these units was in Shanghai in August last year.
"Kalmar has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the critical requirements in our business," said ICTSI Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) purchasing director Antonio Coronel.
"We have an ambitious development strategy to become one of the world's leading port management companies and on the same global stage, Kalmar is clearly a trusted partner," he said.
