HONG Kong Air Cargo has been presented with a certificate recognising the successful completion of a major international safety audit, International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
The programme is an internationally accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognised quality audit principles to conduct audits in a standardised and consistent manner.
'Hong Kong Air Cargo takes great pride in being one of the largest Asian air cargo to receive such an accolade,' the air carrier said.
IATA's general manager Hong Kong and Macau, Yvonne Ho, said that the IOSA registration shows that Hong Kong Air Cargo aligns itself with some of the most rigorous safety standards in the industry.
Vice president and COO of Hong Kong Air Cargo, TC Wong, commented: 'The completion of our IOSA registration further affirms Hong Kong Air Cargo's commitment to the highest standards of operational safety. The audit is an in-depth look at the practices and standards of the airline with the end goal of meeting a common, worldwide standard for safety in everything we do.
'We fully support the continuous updating of standards to reflect regulatory revisions and the evolution of best practices within the worldwide airline industry under the continuing stewardship of IATA. Hong Kong Air Cargo will be focusing on developing a fully integrated transportation network in the Greater Bay Area including air cargo, ground transportation and warehousing services with an aim to build Hong Kong as the logistics hub.'
Since its establishment in 2017, Hong Kong Air Cargo has expanded its route network to cover 7 destinations in the region - Bangkok, Dhaka, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei.
In addition, the cargo carrier is the general sales agent of Hong Kong Airlines' cargo business. The all-cargo destinations of Hong Kong Airlines include Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Dhaka, Almaty and Istanbul.
