The 'Heiko' could not yet be taken in tow due to ongoing strong heat development two days after the fire. A salvage crew could not board the wreck to investigate the part which was hit by fire as it still was too hot and it could not be established whether it was out. It's up to the shipping company Hardangerfrakt AS in Vaksdal, the owner Bjarne Olav Eidnes, the insurance company and the storage company involved to decide when the salvage may start. The Coastal Administration had asked for a salvage plan. Once the 'Heiko' can be boarded, also the police will conduct technical examinations on board.
