Hamburg Sud USEC-SAWC loop moves to Staten Island from NJ terminal
HAMBURG Sud is changing terminals on their United States East Coast to South America West Coast service from Global Container Terminal in Bayonne, NJ to GCT Terminal in Staten Island, NY.
The last vessel calling at Global Container Terminal in Bayonne NJ will be 4,043-TEU Limari voyage 155 - September 8, and the first vessel to call the GCT New York Terminal in Staten Island will be Loa voyage 148 - September 15.
GCT New York Terminal is a modern facility with near dock rail access and an adjacent US Customs Examination Station, says the American Journal of Transportation.
Meanwhile, Hapag-Lloyd has also announced a terminal change for the USW service at the Port of New York from GCT Bayonne to NYCT-Staten Island (GCT New York).
The last USW sailing for GCT Bayonne will be the Limari voyage 0155N (ETA September 8, 2016). The first USW sailing for NYCT-Staten Island will be the LOA voyage 0148N (ETA September 15).
