Hamburg Sud cuts out USEC loop and changes two transpacific services
GERMANY's Hamburg Sud has announced a range of changes to their transpacific services which with affect the US west coast UPAS1, the UPAS2 and the east coast ECAS and the ASUS.
The Asia-North America west coast (UPAS1) service will soon move from Shanghai's Yangshan Terminal to the Wai Gao Qiao Terminal effective with the departure of the 8,204-TEU CMA CGM Nabucco on May 26.
The Asia-North America west coast (UPAS2) service will no longer make a direct call at Qingdao from May 17 with the 10,036-TEU CSCL Winter. Eastbound and westbound cargo from/to Qingdao going forward will be transshipped via Busan, said the company.
The Asia-North America east coast (ECAS) service will add a call at Charleston starting with the departure of the 8,530-TEU CMA CGM Melisande voyage from Hong Kong on April 24 and arriving in Charleston on May 30. East coast rotation will be Halifax, New York, Norfolk, Savannah and Charleston.
Asia-North America east coast (ASUS) service will be discontinued after the departure of the 10,000-TEU Seaspan Explorer on June 30 from Qingdao. Weekly North China service to the US east coast ports of Savannah, Charleston, Norfolk and New York will continue to be provided on the APNE service.
