A 17-STRONG delegation from Hong Kong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics (HAFFA) recently concluded a two-day study tour of Zhuhai and Macao aimed at strengthening logistics cooperation with the neighbouring Greater Bay Area (GBA) cities.
The haffa mission was initiated by chairman Gary Lau in response to President Xi Jinping's support for Hong Kong's status as an international aviation hub and maritime centre as mentioned in the '14th Five-Year Plan', and efforts by the Hong Kong Transport and Logistics Bureau to strengthen cooperation between Hong Kong and Zhuhai.
On March 10, Lam Sai-hung, Secretary for Transport and Logistics, led members of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council on a visit to Zhuhai, meeting with the Zhuhai Municipal Government to discuss fully utilising the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao-Bridge (HZMB) to strengthen logistics cooperation between the neighbouring cities.
On March 29, Lin Ri-tuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Zhuhai Municipal Government, hosted a banquet to welcome the HAFFA delegation. There, views were exchanged on deepening cooperation between the two cities and jointly expanding international freight business.
