Germany’s RWE Dea has managed to fly all of its international oil workers out of Libya while the political emergency there continues.
RWE Dea said today it has managed to fly all international staff members out of the country, and this includes members of a core team who had until recently remained in the capital Tripoli.
“In doing so, the company responded to the current situation prevailing in the country in the interests of the safety of its workforce,” the German operator said.
Up to 40 employees returned over last weekend and the last of RWE Dea’s international staff in Libya made it out of the country on Tuesday, 22 February.
However the company also has some Libyan 100 employees at its Tripoli headquarters who are remaining.
At present RWE Dea is preparing two new field developments two concessions in the country but operational work on these has now halted. Also RWE Dea has postponed travel to Libya until further notice.
