GEODIS has announced the launch of a new eLogistics platform in the UK, expanding its existing services for e-retailers, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
The platform, known as geodis eLogistics, provides comprehensive logistics solutions, including order preparation, personalisation, inventory optimisation, transport organisation, and returns management.
In April 2023, the French logistics giant Geodis opened a state-of-the-art eLogistics facility in Coventry. Spanning over 7,000 square metres, the strategically located site ensures efficient product distribution due to excellent transport links. With a storage capacity exceeding 500,000 stock keeping units (SKU) and the ability to process up to 5,000 orders per day, the facility offers substantial operational capabilities.
Geodis' eLogistics solution enables e-commerce companies, regardless of their size, to outsource their logistics operations seamlessly and cost-effectively.
With the addition of the Coventry facility, Geodis now operates a total of six eLogistics platforms across the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, the company has warehousing space available in Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy, totaling 40,000 square metres dedicated to this specialised offering.
'The eLogistics offering is the latest innovation from Geodis. The opening of this new eLogistics facility in the UK will allow new webshops, marketplaces, and other kinds of e-commerce platforms to develop their businesses in a new geographical zone close to local markets,' said Geodis eLogistics Europe head Jean-Pierre Juteau.
