The 'Mekhanik Kottsov' which ran aground while departing the port of Onega on Aug 16, refloated independently and proceeded to Archangelsk for inspections in accordance with navigation safety requirements. A diving inspection of the hull and a survey by the Russian Maritime Register revealed that the vessel had sustained no damage during the grounding. The vessel in accordance with its contract, sailed from Archangelsk and continued its passage to Saint-Malo on Aug 18. The vessel was carrying a cargo of 3903.3 cubic meters of packaged timber.
