Mooie Meid - N 28
In the night of Mar 2 around 10 p.m. the "Mooie Meid - N 28", 64 gt, capsized 20 miles off Dunkirk.
A search was launched after a distress signal was received by the rescue center in Gris-Nez.
The operation was attended by two Belgian helicopters with divers on board, a unit of the French Navy, three other ships and a Belgian rescue ship, a boat of the Belgian police, a tug of the French state, two ships of the French SAR services and three freighters.
The search lasted until 04.45 a.m. on Mar 2. Belgian divers were able to penetrate the wheelhouse without finding a trace of the crew.
With daylight the search was resumed with a helicopter of the French Civil Protection and the "Anglian Monarch". It is not known if the ship was fishing when it capsized. The water temperature was 8 degrees.
