Casella, formerly the Country Manager of Maimex Far East, one of Italy's most established businesses in Asia, continues to explain the importance of the South East Asia Market and the focus of his company WL-Logistics, the freight forwarder division of the giant MM Group, specialized in customised turnkey solutions for the oil and gas industry.
Located in the Hong Kong market since 1991, my company is operating as neutral BSA consolidators - so called 'master co-loader'. Our strategy is to buy huge quantities of space, and then sell them to small/medium companies that don't have the financial power and bargaining volume to approach the airlines directly.
Our primary market is still the export to Italy, MXP and FCO, where we have multiple airlines with over 12 departures per week. Starting this year, we are expanding our business model to other European destinations such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London.
Casella, who has been based in China for over 9 years, also states: Thanks to the MM Group we have started our campaign in South East Asia.
We opened our first office in Vietnam combining local knowledge with international management, and synergizing freight forwarding, trucking, and project cargo handling. We will soon open in Cambodia and Singapore as well, in order to complete our presence in the region.
