TAIWAN's Evergreen Line has notified their vessel sharing partners NYK, Hanjin and Yang Ming to end its vessel sharing agreement on the ANS USEC-Caucedo-Brazil service in April 2014.
The last vessel to be complete a round trip voyage will be Conti Harmony, ETA Norfolk, Virginia April 10, reports the American Journal of Transportation of Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Evergreen recently became a member of the CKYH shipping alliance with "K" Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping. The decision is a U-turn for Evergreen, which in the past had shied away formal container shipping alliances, preferring the flexibility of loose knit arrangements with other ocean liners.
As a member of the newly named CKYHE Alliance, it will contribute 17 vessels in total, comprising both 8,500-TEU and 13,800-TEU ships.
