TAIWAN's Evergreen will add a weekly service from May 30 through slots on the recently launched Semarang Vietnam China (SVC) service operated by PIL-ACL.
The SVC will rotate through Singapore, Semarang, Singapore, Haiphong and Fangcheng, Qui Nhon, Ho Chi Min City, Singapore, deploying three 1,088-TEU PIL 'H' class ships.
Evergreen will retake the name of SVC to brand its participation to the service, which will be limited to the ports of Singapore, Semarang, Haiphong, Singapore, said Alphaliner.
The first Evergreen sailing on the SVC service is planned on May 30 from Singapore with the sailing of the 1,088-TEU Kota Harmuni.
Evergreen's slotting will strengthen the carrier's position on the Singapore-Haiphong route, adding to the Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia (VSM) weekly service, launched earlier this month by the Taiwanese carrier.
The VSM calls at Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Cang-Hiep Phuoc) and back to Singapore.
The service turns in two weeks using the 1,164-TEU sister vessels Ever Ally and Ever Apex (Evergreen 'A' Class).
Thus far, Evergreen has been covering the Straits-Haiphong route through slots on the Yang Ming's Straits-Vietnam SE 2 (SEA 2) service, a slot arrangement that is to be terminated at the end of the month.
