HELSINKI maritime software major Eniram has upgraded its "speed" version 3.0 system to further reduce fuel consumption by including conditions at sea to make the best speed for the least bunker burn.
The system now includes prevailing weather, forecasts, required engine loads, as well as squat, speed restrictions and for emissions control areas (ECA).
"Ship operators will be able to better plan, operate and maintain timely voyages at the lowest possible fuel consumption," said Eniram vice president Jussi Pyoerre. "On average, operators can expect savings between two and six per cent."
New features have also been included, including combined sea current and tides, map assisted route set-up, map assisted USB route uploading and Furuno FMD ECDIS support, reported London's Tanker Operator.
In addition, the company has released its Fleet Route key performance indicators (KPI), a new solution designed to provide additional energy efficiency optimisation.
The KPIs are delivered via a proprietary web-based application that enables shipowners and operators, to gather, store and analyse data, such as fuel consumption per engine, engine power, speed-power and LNG tank data across an entire fleet.
The route service's key elements include illustrations of individual vessel routing performance against other vessels and simulation of all the recorded tracks against sailed dates and conditions.
