On Aug 5, 2018, at midnight the Port Authority of Aegina was informedby the captain of the 'Flying Dolphin XVIII' upon the arrival at the port on its scheduled service from Piraeus with 55 passengers and six crew members on board, that the ship had suffered a failure in the starboard side main engine. The ship safely dropped off the passengers and was then detained from the port authority until repairs and the presentation of a class confirmation by the attending classification society. 29 stranded passengers were carried to their destination by other means of the Hellenic Seaways Maritime SA company.
