DUBAI's DP World Aden has received and commenced operating two new gantry cranes to make a total of seven cranes in operation at the Aden Container Terminal (ACT) in Yemen.
The new cranes are Liebherrs super postpanamax quay cranes capable of reaching across 22 rows of containers and a carrying 65 tons to accommodate megaships can call at Aden.
The terminal has handled its largest vessel ever, the 8,441-TEU MSC Tomoko at the which has a 16 metres alongside Berths 1 and 2, and 48 hectares of terminal back up yard space.
