In the morning of Sep 25, 2018, the Argentine Naval prefectura assisted the 'Magdalena' which had suffered a water ingress in the vicinity of Comodoro Rivadavia. The Comodoro Rivadavia Coastal Station received a distress call of the captain who reported that water was entering the engine room. While the crew activated the bilge pumps, the prefecutre established contact with the fishing vessel 'API VI' that operated in the area, and coordinated the escort of the 'Magdalena' to Puerto Madryn. Also the Coastguard cutter 'GC-65 - Martin García' was deployed with salvage equipment. A team boarded the distressed vessel to control the water ingress and ensure a safe navigation to port.
