nationals stranded in the country.Fu Zhimin, political counselor of the Chinese embassy in Malta, told
Xinhua that the Maltese government has guaranteed all-out support to
facilitate the embassy's evacuation efforts. The rented cruise ship, owned by an Italian shipping company, was
leaving for Libya, joining the coordinated efforts of bringing back
Chinese nationals trapped in Libya, Fu said. If things go well, the cruise ship, with a seating capacity of more
than 2,000 passengers, was expected to return to Malta on Friday.Under the coordinated arrangment of the Chinese government, the
Foreign Ministry has mobilized embassies in Malta and other countries
neighboring Libya to synergize their efforts, joining the massive
evacuation work.
