Croatian shipyard Brodogradiliste 3. Maj said it launched a self-unloading bulk carrier for Canadian shipping company Algoma.
The vessel, with a load carrying capacity of 24,900 tonnes, is 198 metres long and 23 metres wide, 3. Maj said in a filing to the Zagreb bourse.Brodogradiliste 3. Maj is 83.15%-owned by Pula-based shipbuilder Uljanik.St. Catharines-headquartered Algoma owns and operates the largest Canadian flag fleet of dry-bulk carriers and product tankers operating on the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Waterway.
