AIDA Cruises is to add a new ship to its fleet to provide more capacity on its AIDA Selection Explorer program and enable it to expand into new destinations. In December 2019, AIDA will welcome the new AIDAmira, which is currently sailing as Costa neoRiviera for sister brand Costa Cruises. Before joining the fleet, the ship will undergo an extensive remodelling and refurbishment project. Key onboard highlights will include 624 guest staterooms (including 96 suites), six bars, six restaurants, two large pools and two whirlpools on a spacious sun deck and much more. AIDAmira will then join AIDAaura, AIDAcara and AIDAvita, which have been sailing off-the-beaten-track itineraries as part of the AIDA Selection Explorer programme since 2017. The vessel will sail a series of new 14-day itineraries from Cape Town and take guests to destinations in South Africa, including Durban, East London, Lüderitz, Namibia and Walvis Bay.
