A NEW terminal location in Charlotte has been opened by ContainerPort Group (CPG) at the North Carolina port's Inland Terminal.
The new terminal will specialise in international container drayage over the port of Wilmington and the rail ramps in Charlotte.
North Carolina has proven to be an attractive region of intermodal activity for CPG, which also operates a drayage terminal and the Norfolk Southern ramp in Greensboro, reported American Journal of Transportation.
CPG Charlotte's acreage will provide empty and loaded container storage options to include loaded lift capability, complementing the company's existing terminal services network.
"The opening of the Charlotte terminal is part of CPG's long term strategic plan of increasing its business in the southeast United States," said president Russ Graef.
