The Japanese aggregate carrier 'Daiei Maru No. 10', 976 dwt (IMO: 8934075), collided with the 'Ishitegaa', carrying 40 passengers, on July 26, 2018, at 7 a.m. in the Inner Japan Sea off Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture. Both ships sustained serious damages when the cargo ship struck the ferry’s aft and ripped a big hole portside above the waterline. The freighter’s bulbose nose was dented and breached. Several passengers and crew members of the ferry were slightly injured.
