On Aug 27 the 'Rygerfonn' was back on its normal route again after the collision with a pleasure boat in the Bjørnefjord the previous evening. The 17-year-old man who was on board the pleasure boat was only slightly injured in the accident. The 'Rygerfonn' was coming with a speed of 30 knots from the port of Os when the crew on the bridge remarked the open 20-ft-boat that appraoched at the port side. The 'Rygerfonn' tried to notify the boat that it was on a collision course, but it did not comply. When the boats were so close to another that there was a danger of a collision, the 'Rygerfonn' turned the engine in reverse and slowed down as much as it could. The boat skipper swam to the speedboat and climbed a ladder after his boat was run over and destroyed. The patrol boat 'Bergen' was nearby when the announcement of the collision came over the radio. Ot first sent a sanitary ware on board ithe n 'Rygerfonn'. Then it got the injured man transported to Os City where he was taken to Haukeland. The wreckage of the boat was pulled on board with a winch. The ferry only suffered some scratches. After the collision the crew was offered to be replaced. The criminal prosecutor at Os and Austevoll , Audun Hadler-OIsen, stalked to the captain of the 'Rygerfonn' and the 17-year-old who was in the boat.
