CMA CGM plays catch-up with MSC, Maersk, orders six 14,000-TEUers
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has ordered six 14,000-TEU ships for delivery from late 2016 through to mid-2017 from Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries.
CMA CGM's backlog of ships to deliver now stands at 13 from Korea, China and the Philippines, reports Singapore's Splash 24/7.
CMA CGM is still behind frontrunners MSC and Maersk. Including newbuilds the French company has 1.75 million slots, according to Alphaliner, some 840,000 slots short of MSC and 1.29 million slots behind Maersk.
