The "Seaways Yellowstone" was pulled to safety after adverse weather conditions struck Portland harbour. She was taken in tow by two tugs after it began to drag anchor in the unexpected gales on Mar 5, 2017. The ship had arrived in Portland Port on Mar 4 for a routine change of ownership but got into trouble as winds over 50 mph began to drag the ship sideways. At 3 p.m. there was an un-forecast weather event with winds in excess of 50 knots. While adrift the tanker came close to the breakwater and later, under tow, close to the bow of the "Berge Yeotti".
