Shipowner Chung Yang Shipping has added a second heavy-lift module carrier to its fleet. The 15,000 deadweight-tonne CY Interocean II follows Chung Yang’s sister vessel, CY Interocean I, which entered service last year. Both module carriers measure 152 meters long and 40 meters wide with a free deck area of 5,000 square meters. The vessel features a deckload capacity of 20 tonnes per square meter and is expected to enter into service transporting breakbulk components for oil and gas projects in Kazakhstan on behalf of COSCO Shipping. Headquartered in South Korea, Chung Yang provides heavy-lift shipping, breakbulk and project cargo shipment throughout Asia. The firm is represented commercially by Esprit Korea.
