Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding in China has floated out a new dual-fuel 24,000-TEU ship for French liner CMA CGM Group, reports Melbourne's Baird's Maritime. The vessel, named CMA CGM Notre Dame, follows CMA CGM Seine, which was delivered earlier this year after completion at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. Both ships are part of CMA CGM's push to expand its dual-fuel fleet.

Once completed, CMA CGM Notre Dame will measure 399 metres in length, with a beam of 61.3 metres, draught of 14.5 metres, and depth of 33.5 metres. It will have a total capacity of 24,000 TEUs, including space for up to 2,200 refrigerated containers.

The vessel's dual-fuel engine will be powered by mark III membrane-type LNG tanks with a total capacity of 18,600 cubic metres. Operating solely on LNG, the ship can travel up to 20,000 nautical miles, enabling service between Europe and the Far East.
