The "Chariot" carrying a cargo of ammunition has reached Syria after being temporarily halted during a refuelling stop in Cyprus on Jan 10, 2012.
It was allowed to sail on Jan 11, whereupon it dropped off conventional tracking systems, switched course and reached Syria on Jan 12. It had bullets in four containers on board according to Cypriot officials.
The "Chariot" sailed from St. Petersburg on December 9. A Turkish foreign ministry official on Jan 13 confirmed the ship had reached Syria.
As of 10:15 a.m. the Turkish navy checked and confirmed that the ship in question was docked at the Syrian port of Tartus.
