MAJOR non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) CaroTrans has announced a new, direct LCL import services between Taiwan and New York with the first sailing to the US East Coast scheduled for December 4.
The service features a 32-day transit from Taichung, Kaoshiung and Keelung, Taiwan and express connections to Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, the company said.
CaroTrans now offers three direct import services from Taiwan to the US. In addition to this new service to New York, they also offer service to the US heartland at Chicago, and to the US West Coast at Los Angeles.
"There's a need in marketplace today for efficient, direct transportation services and customer-focused, personalized service. That's why we're continuously expanding our global transportation network to assist logistics service providers in their goal to deliver excellent supply chain solutions to their customers. This service is another example of our commitment to deepening our global service network," said CEO of CaroTrans, Greg Howard.
Taiwan is a major exporter of electronics, electronic components, basic metals, plastics, rubber, optical and photographic instruments and chemicals. In 2014, US-Taiwan bilateral trade reached US$67.4 billion. Taiwan is the United States 10th largest trading partner.
