CHINESE liner service provider China United Lines (CULines) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Shanghai-headquartered Boxplus, a leading IoT solution provider in the container industry.
Under the agreement, Boxplus will install IBOX equipment with cutting-edge technology on refrigerated containers, allowing CULines and its customers to monitor the location of the containers as well as the 'temperature, humidity, events and alarms, thereby greatly improving the transparency of cold chain transportation and operational efficiency'.
Chairman of China United Shipping, Raymond Chen, said the use of IBOX IoT technology will bring about operation optimisation and cost reduction for reefer transportation.
'More importantly, it can enable our customers to track and monitor their cargo transportation status from the start to end and predict the time of arrival at the port and warehouse. It will also reduce the risk of cargo damage and improve transportation safety,' Mr Chen added.
Afra Guo, the managing director of Boxplus, said: 'We are pleased to provide high-end cold chain digital IoT solutions for China United Shipping. It is not just an IoT device, but a complete digital platform that can serve shipping companies and their customers.'
